Marcin Baster started Db2 journey back in 2011, by joining Db2 Support organization as a software engineer, with responsibilities of debugging Db2 software with knowledge of C/C++ programming, operating systems, and other relevant technologies. Performed source code analysis and deep diagnosis to resolve complex issues. Worked on defects identification and APAR fixes for problems with a Db2 software. Worked with the Db2 24/7 FTS system down cases, and on technical escalations for Db2 customers.
While progressing the career, grown towards troubleshooting on problem determination for systems such as Db2 EventStore, Db2 Warehouse, Db2 PureScale, IIAS appliance and Db2 on Cloud. Was resolving questions and problems related to product installation, configuration, functionality, compatibility, performance and availability across multiple platforms and network infrastructures. Contributed as a Team Leader with focus on projects involving team workflow, creation of internal processes, implementation of external regulations.
On 2019 changed role to managerial area, and started managing team of Db2 experts supporting IBM clients, to help enterprises enable, use, tune and troubleshoot Db2 product. Was involved in various initiatives that include team skills and enablement, streamlining process and IBM product availability, support content creation and sharing. Currently working towards highest quality service, and client satisfaction, while leveraging Db2 technology. Delivering customers Db2 managerial support for critical cases and escalations.
